What are the Camp Elements?
Camp elements are the key components that come together to form the structure and experience at Footsteps English Learning Camps. Scroll down for more detail on each of the primary elements.
Choose from two great camp locations:
One camp is in Redding, California with an abundance of outdoor activities, beautiful natural surroundings and an “Old West” atmosphere.
The other camp is in the San Francisco Bay Area located in the heart of Silicon Valley. Students are exposed to cutting-edge technology in a city and suburban setting.
In addition to daily English instruction, our students build their English skills in a variety of other classes such as:

2:00 p.m. Activities Classes – Arts and Crafts
2:45 p.m. Activities Classes – Science and Exploration
2:50 p.m. Activities Classes – Games and Recreation
3:40 p.m. Cooking and Culture
5:30 p.m. Dinner
6:00 p.m. Home Stay for Journal, Homework Completion, Time with Host Family
9:00 p.m. Lights Out and Bed Time
Students are housed by host families from the local community, giving them further exposure to American culture and the opportunity to build relationships and practice their conversational English. It’s amazing to see how quickly these relationships grow and enrich the experience for students as well as their homestay families.
Our camps include sight-seeing and fun excursions in San Francisco and around the Bay Area. In addition to the traditional sights like the Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39, and Cable Car rides, our touring may include destinations such as amusement parks (Great America or Six Flags), Ghiradeli Square, several major shopping centers, and events like professional baseball games.
